Scams

The Grandparent Scam.

The caller calls a house hoping to get a older person on the phone.  The caller calls them grandma or grandpa and tells them this is your grandson / granddaughter.  The caller then tells the older person that they are in trouble and that they need money.  They ask the grandparent to not tell their parents because they don't want them to be disappointed in them.  The caller then tells them that they need them to wire them some money so they can get out of jail.  When the older person wires the money a lot of times they call them back and tells them they need more money for other things like a rental car or damages they did to the other persons car.  There is usually no chance of ever getting the money back on this scam once it is wired.
