Criminal Damage

The Iola Police Department and Allen County Crime Stoppers is looking for information about a series of crimes that happened between Thursday, March 6th and Friday, March 7th.  Unknown suspects were moving around Iola and threw bricks through or at different windows and windshields causing damage in at least four different cases.  If you have any information regarding who may be doing this you are encouraged to call Allen County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go to www.allencountycs.org and click the submit a tip button.  Either way, keep your i.d. number that is given to you to claim your reward.  Tips given through Facebook are NOT eligible for a reward through Allen County Crime Stoppers.  Tips leading to the resolution of a crime are eligible for up to a $1000 cash reward.  Please share this status to help get the word out.  Crime doesn’t pay but we do! 

Thefts from cars
February 15, 2012

Recently the Iola Police Department has been investigating a rash of car burglaries.  There have been some arrest made in these cases but we are still looking for items taken.  Two items in particular are a .22 caliber revolver and a .38 caliber revolver.  If you have any information about people selling items please call crime stopper at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or go to the submit a tip page and submit your tip on this website.  This could qualify you for up to a $1000 cash reward.



Home Burglary
November 12, 2011

Sometime between November 7th, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. and November 12th, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. unknown persons entered a home and garage near the intersection of 600 and Nebraska.  The suspects removed numerous household items, some of which were a wood desk, an outdoor gas grill, large flat panel big screen t.v., dvd player, Samsung brand t.v., light tan saddle, gas weed eater, Lincoln electric welder 225 amp, craftsman air compressor, among other household items.

Home Burglary
October 12, 2011

On October 12th between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. unknown persons entered a residence around 1400 and Arizona Rd, Humboldt, KS.  Items taken during the home burglary is an HP Pavilion laptop computer with a 17 inch screen, 3 jewelry boxes containing miscellaneous jewelry, a peanut butter jar containing about $100 in loose change, $25 in currency, 5 commemorative Knights of Columbus belt buckles, 1 wagon wheel belt buckle, wildlife camera, 3 gun magazines, brown and red brief case, Knights of Columbus checkbook, and a certificate of deposit.  The three jewelry boxes were 2 pencil box style and chest of drawers style.  Some of the items taken were a double ladder rosary with pink stones, losts of ear rings, assorted jewelry with black onyx hearts, dream catchers jewelry, silver necklaces with silver crosses, red heart ear rings, blood donor awards on ribbons, and a wedding ring.

Theft of tires
May 23, 2011

 Between 05/22/2011 at 11:30 p.m. and 05/23/2011 at 12:30 a.m. an unknown person driving an older model Chevy Lumina pulled onto the old rail road right of way and pulled down behind Sigg`s Used Cars.  The Lumina left the area immediately through the A&W restaurant parking lot and then returned a few minutes later, drove back behind Siggs again not to be seen again.  The next morning it was discovered that a set of four Firestone tires 265 75 R16 and four aluminum start pattern wheels were missing off of a truck on the lot. 

Vehicle Burglaries
May 16, 2011

On or about the 16th of May it was discovered that six different cars parked on the car lot at Siggs Used Cars, located at 1721 East Street, had been entered and the stereos removed from the cars.  Several of these vehicles had windows broken out in an attempt to enter the vehicles. 



Theft of Motor fuel
May 12, 2011

On May 12th at approximately 8:00 p.m. a red Chevy truck approximately 2004 model pulled into Jump Start Travel Center and pumped 20 gallons of fuel into the truck.  When the driver was done pumping the fuel he laid the pump handle down on the ground and left without paying.  If you recognize the driver or the truck please call crime stoppers with that information.

Burglary of Truck
February 06, 2011

Between the hours of 5:00 p.m. on February 6th, 2011 and 5:00 a.m. on February 7th, 2011 unknown persons entered a locked truck parked at 209 N. Third Street in the city of Iola.  The suspects used a prying device to enter the truck. The suspects went through the truck and removed some cash from the glove box of the truck.  The truck is a 2005 Ford pickup.

Stolen Vehicles
January 25, 2011

In the morning of Friday January 21, 2011 between 6:10 a.m. and 6:25 a.m. an unknown person removed a 1995 Chevy van white in color from the driveway at 107 N. Third Street in Iola.  This vehicle was recovered a short time later in Humboldt.

 

Sometime after 1:45 a.m. and before 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday January 25, 2011 an unknown person removed a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville dark green in color from the driveway of 218 N. First Street in Iola.  This vehicle was recovered a few hours later by the Humboldt Police Department. 

 

The second vehicle was recovered about a block away from the location where the first vehicle stolen was recovered. 

 

On Tuesday January 25, 2011 in the early morning hours the Humboldt police department had a pickup taken from a garage where the garage door was open.  That vehicle was also recovered a short time later. 

 

All of these vehicles had keys left in them and were unlocked.
